Description
On the occasion of the great exhibition that Palazzo Grassi dedicates until November 6, the Theatre offers the public a rare chance to see a selection of films shot by Sigmar Polke.
The filmmaker activities Polke is little known; However, there are more than 100 hours of footage stored from Summer of Sigmar Polke. Made of 16mm film, both color and black and white but generally without audio, the Polke films are a visual diary of his private life and his artistic practice, but also ironic comments and curious to travel, news and events policy.
Are films that bear witness to the artist's sense of humor and a willingness to experiment that characterizes his work: this is from the visual language point of view and from that of production. Polke exploits the light sensitivity of the film and adopting various measures to suggest the impression of a direct contact with the environment: blurred image, editing room, wide variety of movements and placement of elements unplanned.
